Blue Jersey Radio LIVE Tonight at 8:00 p.m.

by: Jeff Gardner

Tue Dec 01, 2009 at 03:00:00 PM EST

Each week, Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE with New Jersey's latest political buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your stimulating calls.

This Week: We'll be talking about the, ahem, "courage" of our members in the legislature on Marriage Equality. And, we'll do some talking about Jon Runyan's playing footsie with football and congress. Of course, we'll have to talk about the unholy (and lucrative!) alliance between Hal Turner, Chris Christie and the FBI. And, time permitting, we may even get to talk about how New Jersey's broke, we're not giving towns loot and it's getting worse by the day.

Oh yes - this promises to be a happy episode indeed. /snark

Sound fun? Well, go ahead and drop in a comment with your thoughts. Or, feel free to give us a call, and share what's on your mind. Remember, it's all LIVE, so don't be afraid - join us!

That number again is: 646-652-2773.

Talk to you then!

Signers, call in (4.00 / 2)
Maybe some of the marriage equality letter signers would like to call in.

Whether you're one of the original 200 signers, or someone who signed on line today, thanks for doing that - - maybe you'd like to call in tonight and say why you signed?

8pm - 646-652-2773.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

Unfortunate timing to have this session (0.00 / 0)
coincide with the President's major speech on Afghanistan this eventing.

that Obama... (4.00 / 1)
...keeps stomping on the base!

I don't think that's fair (0.00 / 0)
The Democratic frame for many years has been that Iraq was the wrong war and Afghanistan was the right one.  I am pretty sure that even Howard Dean took this position.

While it is very possible that like so many of the Bush Administration's policies, the damage that was done in Afghanistan is irreparable, it is inconceivable how progressives can be disappointed or surprised by the direction that the Obama Administration is taking on this issue.

Even though pulling all of our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq immediately might be the best approach in the long run for the U.S., it is unlikely that this would be very good for the Afghanis and Iraqis, and when we consider the fact that these countries are both worse off now than when we entered them in 2001 and 2003 respectively, we are stuck with the responsibility to exit them in at least no worse of condition than they are in today.

President Obama is not doing what he is doing so that he can go out of his way to stomp on his base.  He is doing it because he believes that it is the least worse of his available options.

Should go on at 9pm and broadcast for two hours (0.00 / 0)
I am sure that between marriage equality and Afghanistan, you'll have plenty to talk about.
