Unforgivable

The Press of Atlantic City says John Adler will oppose the health care bill. I'm not in the district, and I guess he'll get a lot more money from insurance companies than I'd ever have given, but it's unforgivable as far as I am concerned.

He thinks this protects him from GOP attacks. (4.00 / 3)
But what he and other Democrats don't understand is that there is nothing that will sate Republicans' penchant for obstruction and appetite for Democratic blood.

If it weren't health care reform to attack you with, it'd be something else. Just wait. So vote how you will, John Adler, but don't be so naive.

maybe he's sincere (0.00 / 0)
Maybe he thinks this helps get re-elected as apparently he thinks he'll get conservatives to turn out to help him, that's so foolish  maybe it's just principle. He woke up this morning and put out two releases. He wants to spend billions to help someplace called "Nawa" and doesn't want to spend billions to keep Americans alive. That the money he'll spend on Afghanistan is borrowed but that he won't spend in America is not is probably a bonus to him.

I have to think of a witty signature about Frank LoBiondo

BOOM! n/t (0.00 / 0)

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

Ocean County scares Adler (4.00 / 1)
"Wally Edge" at PolitickerNJ has a post up that Chris Christie's huge margin of victory in Ocean County has put a scare into Adler.  If turnout next year is the same as this year Adler will likely lose.

I'm sure Adler has Pelosi's blessing since she doesn't need his vote and he's a freshman democrat in a republican district who needs to demonstrate his independence from the white house.

As precedent I recall Frank Lautenberg in 1993 being one of only seven democrats to vote against Bill Clinton's deficit reduction bill.  I'm sure he had Clinton's blessing because he was in a tough re-election the following year, and NJ was at the time considered a swing state having just elected a republican governor.  Coincidence?  Maybe not.
