Corzine would have won if he had listened to me

Jon Corzine would have won last night if he had listened to me.  Four years ago, when the world was young and Jon Corzine was running for office I wrote an open letter to his web log in which I urged him to announce his intention of, upon becoming governor, initiating an Energy Race in the state of New Jersey along the lines of John Kennedy's Space Race.
DBK :: Corzine would have won if he had listened to me
In that letter, I listed the many ways in which an Energy Race would benefit the state, among them in terms of jobs as well as cost-savings on energy.  In addition, I wrote of how it would display leadership and vision.  Instead, we got an executive whose boldest vision was to sell the Turnpike to private industry.  Four years ago I was an enthusiastic Corzine supporter.  Today I live in a different state, and from my bedroom office out here on the prairie, I am sanguine about the results from last night's election.  Yes, we have another Republican governor, this one looking to be about as bad as most of them have been, but I can't say I am surprised.  Corzine's gubernatorial tenure was lackluster.  Ultimately, though, his re-election chances were dimmed by something outside his control, namely the horrible national economy.  However, he passed on the best hope he had to revive New Jersey's economy ahead of and aside from the national economy:  an Energy Race.
