New Chris Christie Mystery: 2005 Traffic Tickets

by: Hopeful

Wed Aug 26, 2009 at 04:14:21 PM EDT

Kevin McArdle  of NJ 101.5 is reporting on a new Chris Christie scandal:

On a Saturday night in 2005 Chris Christie was issued tickets for speeding and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. A tow truck showed up at the scene but Christie was allowed to drive the vehicle with his wife, kids and Michelle Brown back home according to his spokesperson.

All three tickets had the words "no deal" written on them. The spokesperson says Christie talked with the prosecutor, signed an affdavit pleading guilty and paid a substantial fine. The speeding ticket was reduced and the unregistered dimissed. The spokesperson says Christie does not recall who brought it up but acknowledges the fact that Christie was U.S. Attorney did come up. Christie has refused to return multiple calls asking for comment.

Lots of strange details here. Michele Brown and the wife? Unregistered and Uninsured?  Trying to get out of a ticket by your job?

Double Standards (4.00 / 2)
Can't stand them.

I once had my car towed and impounded due to a computer glitch with the state's system.  I was cited, and had to miss two days of work before everything was dismissed because, shocker, I had insurance.

I care less about the substantial fee than the fact he didn't have to go through the hell I did, and I was innocent.  I couldn't even get the impound fee back.

He should have been sitting on whatever curb he was pulled over at like the rest of us.

no way in hell that (0.00 / 0)
Christie didn't bring it up.  Even police, who are in law enforcement, I would bet wouldn't likely bring up the fact that they just pulled over the US Attorney.

I would bet that most police have no clue who the US Attorney is at any given time.

How fast was he going, and how were there 7 people in the car legally?

Scott Garrett - on the wrong side of, well, everything.

The Lambertsville police chief (0.00 / 0)
said Christie brought it up, and the patrol officer did not know what a US attorney was. I love the "No Deal" written on the ticket, it means Christie must have given the cop a hard time. Imagine that!

Christie was doing 58 in a 40 zone, pretty much flying low.

Torricelli (0.00 / 0)
I think Lambertville was the town where Torricelli had a nail driven into his.

He did something illegal, and then switched car seats with the woman in his car.

..water boarding....and it's Christie doing it all to himself!

And WHO wrote "no deal" on the tickets?  What was THAT about?

"This guy was being a jerk, don't cut him any slack in court"

This reminds me (0.00 / 0)
of when Zulima Farber showed up when her boyfriend got stopped in Bergen County. Something just doesn't seem right here.
