Quote of the Day: 'A lawbreaker' who 'gets the reputation of being the king of law enforcement'

by: Jason Springer

Sun Aug 16, 2009 at 04:59:39 PM EDT

We had plenty of coverage of the Governor at Netroots Nation yesterday.  Yesterday while there for the panel, he met with a group of progressive bloggers and sharply criticized Christie's discussions with Rove: (Via Think Progress)
It is hard to understand how a lawbreaker gets the reputation of being the king of law enforcement, and uses that as a platform. It's the Hatch Act.
Of course the Governor is referring to House Judiciary transcripts of Karl Rove saying he talked to Chris Christie while he was US Attorney about running for Governor. And here is the video:

The campaign also got some great photos of the Governor's appearance on the panel.

Right On Jon!!! (0.00 / 0)
This is what I've been calling on Jon Corzine to do for months.

Finally Jon Corzine is, in his own words and on camera, directly calling out Christopher Christie for what he is, a complete hypocrite.

The gloves are starting to really come off!  This is a glorious occasion.  I knew that the US Marine in Governor Corzine was in there; and now we see that fighting spirit begin to emerge.

Christie and the Republican infrastructure behind him will try to lie and weasel and distort their way out of facing the truth....so this battle is far far from over; but it is one that must be engaged.

And once Corzine and Weinberg get elected, I expect them to be even tougher on the machine politics that has been screwing up our state...than they'll have to be on Christie to effectively kick his political ass.

PS Where is the rest of that interview??! n/t (0.00 / 0)

I saw this over at think progress.

Christie and transparency. (4.00 / 1)
So when will Christie submit those communications records? He didn't want to testify before Congress & walked out in a huff as soon as he decided he was able.

Even Satan (Rove) flipped on him. The very guy he called for advice on advancing his political career WHILE HE WAS STILL THE USA.

Of course Christie doesn't want to disclose the records that will prove what Satan (Rove) testified. In all likelihood, they will absolve Satan of any charge of perjury, while demonstrating that Christie had LIED about having not politicized his USA duties.

Transparency is only for everyone else.

What he needs to do (0.00 / 0)
He probably needs to have started this a long time ago, but if he would have his AG work the case on the corruption in the Ocean County GOP, he would cut straight to his main opponenet, because Todd Christie (cough) is a major donor to George Gilmore's crooked empire.

It's an easy case to make.  The corruption has been rampant for so long, and there are many people willing to help, especially the real conservative Republicans.  Many details have been published long ago, but of course the super-corruption-buster wouldn't go after corruption in the base he's going to rely on.

Finally! (0.00 / 0)
Finally, finally, finally! Way to go, Governor!! You've just proved that you can be tough in the political arena as anyone. Keep it coming!

(Memo to Maggie Moran and Tom Shea: Use that line for the debates!)
