Corzine campaign launches Christiefacts.com, new ad

by: Jason Springer

Tue Jul 21, 2009 at 12:15:00 PM EDT

The Corzine campaign launched Christiefacts.com yesterday, a site dedicated to tracking Chris Christie's changing positions on the issues for the voters. Here was the subheading of their release:
"New Jersey residents need a resource guide to keep track of where he actually stands"
Maggie Moran said this about the site:
"After Christie's latest about-face on President Obama's nomination of Justice Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, it is clear New Jersey residents need a resource guide to keep track of where he actually stands," said Moran.  "Christie said he was against no-bid contracts, and then awarded multi-million dollar no-bid contracts to his friends; and Christie engaged in pay to play after saying he was against it.  He did the same thing with his supportive comments about Justice Sotomayor, which directly contradicted what he said before.  This website will be a valuable tool for New Jerseyans to see where Christie really stands on issues, as opposed to what he says to whichever group he is pandering for on any given day."
The site has video's, news stories, an about Chris page, a did you know section and issue breakdowns. If they wanted a repository for documentation on Chris Christie, they could have just gone with huntsu's work here at Blue Jersey, but we understand. I'm sure the Christie campaign will say it's a smear by the Corzine campaign as usual and not answer any of the charges made on the site. The Corzine campaign also launched a new ad directing people to the Christiefacts website and highlighting Christie's testimony before Congress on the Deferred Prosecution Agreements recently:

We'll see what the voters think in a few months.

I feel sorry for Christie (0.00 / 0)
I really do.  He OBVIOUSLY has had a lot of pressure from the National Republicans, now that he is one of their two only hopes for redemption.  Unfortunately, he doesn't quite have the stamina of a Loretta Weinberg to withstand the political pressure from the top of his own party.

I really do not want to see the Republicans take over the Governor's seat here. The things I care about most - civil rights, healthcare reform, and the Constitution, will take a back seat if Christie wins.  He is changing his rhetoric to fit his party.  We need a Governor who speaks for US, not the RNC.

One Vote.  Yours.  It really does matter.

I don't (4.00 / 1)
he has used the corrupt party machine to get where he is - and has every step of the way.

Whether it was getting the USA job to begin with by having his brother donate hundreds of thousands to the GOP, or the no bid deals, or the way he was on and then magically off the USA firing list due to the suspiciously bogus subpoenas to Menendez right before the election, or whatever else - he has earned nothing and bought or made shady deals to get where he is now.

It's too bad that he very well may have bought and sold out and shady dealt his way to the Governor's office - that is unless Corzine can reverse the polls.

Scott Garrett - on the wrong side of, well, everything.

I agree, clams (4.00 / 1)
Several of Chris Christie's pals have gotten very, very rich from deferred prosecution agreements set up under very questionable circumstances - that's what he was being questioned about in that snip of video, where he up and walked out of a Congressional hearing (yeah, I could care less that he had a train to catch).

When Chris Christie talks about ending corruption, the proper response is: laughter.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.
