Wow! What spectacular pictures. Great job letting us know what it was like three rows from the stage. Thanks, mconvente! - - - promoted by Rosi

Hey all!  I'm finally back home after a long day with the Rutgers Democrats, and I have some pictures and video to show you from today's rally with Barack Obama and Jon Corzine!  Jump over the fold and check 'em out!

mconvente :: Barack Obama, Jon Corzine, and me! (3 rows away!!)
First some quick background on the event and how I scored such awesome seats.  The Corzine campaign rally was originally planned to occur at Rutgers University (my alma mater, and I'm a new graduate this year), however because the demand was so high, the campaign moved it to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.  The new location is an outdoor partially covered amphitheater, and it was a great venue.

Since the Rutgers Democrats organized the original Rutgers event, they were given two VIP tickets per member to this event.  I'm a member and thankfully still on the email list after graduating this year, so I scored the ticket.

OK, now to some pictures!  First, here are some official pictures from the Corzine campaign!  I'm gonna try and do this Al Rodgers style!

The great Governor of New Jersey!

Unions for Corzine!

Our great President Obama with Jon Corzine!

Fired up!  Ready to go!

People of all ages and races coming together!  Shout out to my Rutgers Democrats peeps in this picture!

What a sight to see!

Last, but not least, the campaign nabbed a picture of my friend and I listening intently!  (I'm the guy on the right)

OK, now here are some of my photos and one video.  They are from my iPhone so be kind, but they are actually pretty decent quality.

A nice full profile picture of me holding a campaign sign!

Yes, we are that close to the stage!  Third row!

Jon Corzine speaking!

President Obama speaking!

And finally, a video upload to YouTube.  The quality is not that good, but the audio is good.  This is from the beginning of Obama's speaking.

I'm really proud of my Governor and our President today!  I was super fired up and glad to see the energy we saw during Obama's campaign back in full force.  We have a difficult road ahead, but on the backs of your fellow New Jersey Kossacks, let's keep on pushing for Jon Corzine to be re-elected Governor of the great state of New Jersey!

I was SOOOO happy I could be at this event, and ecstatic that I was in the third row!  Hope it looked as awesome on TV!

Glad you were (4.00 / 1)
able to get so close and had so much fun.  Great pictures by you and the campaign photographer is awesome too.  I have some pics and some video and will work on getting up, but they were slow loading at the venue. Thanks for posting the diary.

Looking forward to some of your video and photos, along with other Blue Jersey members at the rally as well!

So that's what mconvente looks like ... (4.00 / 3)
Really enjoyed both sets of pictures. You saw way more than we did, squirreled away behind the press risers full of tv cameras. But we were sitting down, had blessedly fast internet, and power.  Heads down, facing laptop screens, but it was still great to be there, listening to that roaring crowd.

Thanks again for this diary.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.

they were sitting right in front of us in the press section.

Coverage isn't a surprise ...

Here's Your Embed.... (0.00 / 0)

You just change the "scriptaccess" from always to never in two places........that's about the only HTML I can remember off the top of my head,  LOL

I was there too, a wee bit to your right, behind you at center stage in row L.  (A last minute miracle to get the ticket.)

It's funny about the APP, when I saw one of their reporters I broached the question with them that the Pinkett rumor they ran with was a plant from the Christie campaign to make Corzine look bad......they assured me that the reporter who broke the "story" had a reliable source.

(btw  I still think Pinkett (as wonderful as he may be as a person) is too young/inexperienced to start out a "heartbeat away" from the governorship......but that's another diary.)

The energy at the rally was fantastic, the DJ deserves kudos for keeping the vibe up beat during the long wait.

It was so so so wonderful to see so many Democrats in one place!   We need to find a way to get them all to become progressive activists!!!   :-)
