Blue Jersey Radio LIVE Tonight at 8:00 p.m. with the 25th District Democratic Assembly Candidates

by: Jeff Gardner

Tue Jul 07, 2009 at 02:00:00 PM EDT

Each week, Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE with New Jersey's latest political buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your stimulating calls.

Last week: Our interview with Rush Holt spent all week in Blogtalkradio's Progressive Politics Top Ten. And, like all our shows, it's still available for download on iTunes.

This week: Our guests will be LD-25 Democratic Assembly Candidates Rebekah Conroy and Wendy Wright. Wendy and Rebekah are two more candidates looking to shake up the conventional wisdom in this Morris County District that's been consistently close but no cigar for democrats.

Do these ladies have what it takes to finally take democrats over the hump in the 25th? Find out LIVE tonight at 8:00 p.m.! As always, if you have any questions or advice for the would-be Assemblywomen? Put your ideas in the comments, and we'll choose our favorites to ask them. We're all ears.

Or, you can always give us a call during the show and join in yourself. Remember, it's all LIVE. That number again is: 646-652-2773.

Talk to you later!

Mike "Crackpot Conservative" Carroll (0.00 / 0)
Sadly I think Christie's coattails (ample in more ways than just political) will save Carroll this time around.  However, if Conroy/Wright keep Carroll's margin way below Christie this should help them in a return match.

Two questions:  One is prefaced by John Dorsey's loss some years ago to Gordon McInnes over the former's opposition to a Latina Superior Court Judge in Morris County.  Recently Mike Carroll has devoted two recent columns on PolitickerNJ.com denigrating Sonia Sotomayor.  Do they think they can use this issue, especially with Hispanic voters in Morris County, in much the same way McInnes used a similar issue when he knocked off Dorsey?

Second, have Conroy/Wright made any significant progress with moderate GOP leaders and voters in Morris County, especially supporters of John Sette and Doug Cabana,  who are fed up with Carroll's self-promoting antics and shtick while doing little in the way of constituent service and bringing tax dollars back to the district?

I finally remembered (0.00 / 0)
The name of the Latina judge whose renomination was opposed by the 25th district's state senator John Dorsey in 1994 is Marianne Espinosa-Murphy, who was also the wife of former Morris County prosecutor Michael Murphy.  The issue became an embarassment for the Morris County GOP in general and John Dorsey in particlar, who lost his seat in 1995 to Democrat Gordon McInnes.  Unfortunately Anthony Bucco Sr. reclaimed the seat for the GOP in 1999.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.
