We were so fearful that the wrong element would find out, we forgot to tell the right element

by: Jason Springer

Wed Apr 29, 2009 at 11:15:00 AM EDT

On Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Brian Williams joined Keith to talk about the scare on Monday  with Air Force one.  I wrote some about it and put the video up on Monday night, but Brian Williams even mentioned the sound of the jet engine that I alluded to yesterday.

In a blog post on Monday, Brian Williams said that someone should pay for the NYC air scare calling it the clunkiest thing he'd seen done in years. The White House has opened an investigation into the screw up and won't make any decisions on firing and responsibility until that concludes. Senator Menendez sent a letter to the Department of Justice seeking some answers about the notifications given to local officials and is urging the agencies to adequately notify relevant law enforcement, governors and Members of Congress when the military undertakes a operation or exercise that may cause public unease. Governor Corzine said his office didn't even know about the photo op. It was an expensive scare too costing $328,835.

The more I think about it, the more I realize just how much of a tone deaf epic fail this is for someone not to realize the panic this would cause given what the region has already experienced.

Brian Williams is a typical MSM asshat (0.00 / 0)
With all the real issues confronting this country can't the overpaid talking heads find something more substanitive to pontificate about? Williiams is a first class jerk who goes out of his way to reinforce Rethug talking points. The photo-op was a bad idea and poorly handled. Case closed. (Move on!) Use your bully pulpit to do the Lords work: feed the hungry, heal the (uninsured) sick or get jobs for the millions struggling to make ends meet. This is just more bloviating about nothing.

I can't help but believe (0.00 / 0)
that a few New Yorkers retired after Monday.  Someone had to think I just can't do this anymore. Florida might be looking good.
