Who will replace Doug Fisher in LD3?

by: Hopeful

Mon Feb 09, 2009 at 03:47:59 PM EST

If Doug Fisher becomes Agriculture Secretary, we will need a replacement in the Assembly for LD3.  LD3 covers part of Gloucester County, all of Salem County, and part of Cumberland County:

New Jersey LD3 map

Both Sweeney and Burzichelli are from Gloucester County, so I'm going to agree with a Republican as PolitickerNJ points out Salem is the only County without representation:

"We haven't had representation in Salem County for a long time, and we need representation up there,"

Beth Timberman and David Lindenmuth are both popular Freeholders who would do a great job.  But instead, we get this outrageous quote from a foolish Democrat

"Cherry Hill has more people than Salem County," said one influential Democratic insider.

Cherry Hill is not in our district, and frankly I can only take this remark as a "screw you" with a hint that Norcross is more important than the people of our district.  I'm as partisan as they come, but when I feel this way I know people here won't stand for it.

PolitickerNJ.com is a business.  So, stirring up the pot a little isn't shocking behavior.  I doubt if the "influential Democratic insider" actually lives in District 3.  But, if the article is correct and Beth Timberman is not interested, then that is one off your list.  In fact, if any of the five Freeholders go for the Assembly seat, then it opens up another seat.

Instead of being worried about an "influential Democratic insider" trying to muscle you out, you need to coalesce behind somebody from Salem THEN worry about the convention.

Has the Ag Board met yet?

I thought she wouldn't run (0.00 / 0)
That's what I saw yesterday. That she would seek her Freeholder seat again.

wouldn't be the first time....... (0.00 / 0)
.....i picked incorrectly... but since i am somewhat preoccupied with gender equality in the statehouse i have been asking EVERYONE i know down south to read the tea leaves.

Beth's name comes up more than any other and NOT just because she's a woman or from Salem county..... although surely neither factor would work against here, either.  I am am eager as anyone to find out who's on deck.
