Inaugural Address Open Thread

by: Adam L a/k/a clammyc

Our long national nightmare is (sort of) over.  The adults are in charge.  We may not like everything that the Obama Administration (man, I love the sound of that) says or does, but I am pretty sure that his head is in the right direction and he won't make things worse.

While "yes we can" became "yes we did" back in November, it now must be "yes, we WILL".

What's on your mind?  A farewell to the Bush administration?  Hopes for Obama?  Help for NJ?

I'm excited (4.00 / 2)
Both to say goodbye to the disastrous Bush administration and to welcome in the Obama administration.

    What to add? (4.00 / 3)
    It's a beautiful day.

    I just spent the day (4.00 / 2)
with many of my friends in Englewood in the packed BergenPAC, cheering and weeping with joy and hugging friends from all over the County.  It was the most perfect place to be.  I felt like I was right there in DC.  But warm.

The most beautiful snowfall I can remember was the icing on the cake and the clear sunshine on the smiling faces of neighbors waiting happily in line before the event seemed like a divine comment on the significance of the events of this day.

President Obama.  I love the sound of that.  President Obama :)

One Vote. Yours. It really does matter.

    Excitement (4.00 / 1)
I missed the actual moment- was chaperoning a group of 5th graders on a field trip to TCNJ. On the way back, however, we walked through the student center, which had several TVs showing Bush leaving, and I couldn't resist grabbing my kid's arm and whispering excitedlyy "Look! He's gone! He's gone!"

The school taped President Obama's speech and showed it to the kids when they got back.

Oh, I do love the sound of that- "President Obama."
