Enviros Urge Democrats to Take Action

With only a few exceptions, it’s clear that Republicans don’t want to take action to save our environment. But here in New Jersey, according to several environmental advocacy groups, the Democratic governor and Democratic-controlled legislature are also not doing enough. From the taxpayer bailout of the nuclear power industry to the inaction on promoting electric vehicles, the moniker “Garden” State is in jeopardy according to the speakers at a press conference today.

The event took place on the State House Annex steps, and the speakers in the video, below, are

Jeff Tittel, New Jersey Sierra Club (at the beginning, and closing remarks at 27:11)

Doug O’Malley, Environment New Jersey (5:05)

Amy Goldsmith, Clean Water Action (12:52)

Tracy Carluccio, Delaware Riverkeeper Network (16:27)

Agnes Marsala, People over Pipelines (18:38)

John Weber, Surfrider Foundation (22:56)

Nancy Griffeth, Unitarian Universalist FaithAction NJ (25:47)
