When: Tonight 3/27 at 10pm
Where: Live from Orangeburg, SC on the campaign trail
Tonight 10pm, Cory Booker becomes the latest 2020 hopeful to get the full CNN town hall treatment. CNN anchor and likely moderator of at least one 2020 televised primary debate will be moderator.
Interesting to note Booker is getting a later time-slot than some of his primary opponents who’ve made bigger earlier splashes; Bernie Sanders got an 8pm time slot Feb. 25; Elizabeth Warren went on at 9pm March 18. Like Booker, fellow senators Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar also got 10pm slots. CNN mixed it up a little earlier this month, showcasing 3 candidates live from SXSW in one night; former Maryland congressman John Delaney, then Tulsi Gabbard, then rising star Pete Buttigieg at 9pm.
3%: A CNN/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll released earlier this month placed Booker’s support at 3% in Iowa, the first-in-the-nation caucus state. The yet-unannounced Joe Biden led the pack, with Bernie Sanders 2 points behind and everyone else far behind them, in single digits.
James Buchanan is the nation’s last bachelor president 1857-1861. This week, Booker announced he’s “in love” with actress Rosario Dawson, who he says would make “an incredible First Lady”.
Cory’s definitely somebody I wish well. And uh, I hope he gets a nice polling bump from his election year new love. And so it goes.
