Monday rallies in NJ against Trump’s National Emergency

Bumped. These protests – locations all over NJ – are today.

There is a crisis at the border. And Trump created it in a desperate attempt to fulfill his racist campaign promise to build The Wall. After Congress repeatedly refused to give in and fund his wall fantasy, he declared a fake “National Emergency.”

Today is Presidents Day so what could be more appropriate than a rally against our current leader. They are being held across our state and throughout the nation.

There will be events in Newark, Princeton, Toms River, Asbury Park, Red Bank, Collingswood, Morristown and possibly other places – all on Monday. Go here for the starting time and exact location.

Fact check: What is the national emergency? Do we need a wall?

Join a #PresidentsDay protest to fight Trump’s fake crisis and racist deportation force. Tell Congress to #DefundHate and Stand up against Trump’s #FakeNationalEmergency! Contact your Congressional representative now to tell him or her to limit Trump’s money grab for his bigoted border wall.

The Princeton event invited NJ A.G. Singh Grewal & Gov. Murphy to attend. Below is what Grewal tweeted:

“Now more than ever, we should be building bridges, not walls. The only emergency today is a President who refuses to adhere to the rule of law. We’ll see you in court.”

In Mick Jagger’s immortal words, tell Trump, “You can’t always get what you want.”
