Still ON for tonight at Rutgers: The Political Power of Women’s Anger

A Conversation with Rebecca Traister and Brittney Cooper

New Jersey has a forecast for snow tonight but recent meteorological overreach convinces me we will all muddle through, do what we do, and live to tell. So, I’ve just confirmed a big event tonight from Rutgers Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) is definitely still ON:

The Political Power of Women’s Anger:
A Conversation with Rebecca Traister and Brittney Cooper

When: TONIGHT 6pm (time change!)
Where: Trayes Hall, Douglass Student Center, Rutgers NB
For street address & parking, see below

The time change is a function of the President’s State of the Union Address, which was to be scheduled tonight. We all know what happened there (or maybe ya don’t?). Trump’s SoTU is now scheduled for next Tuesday February 5, I’m only mildly interested in what kind of response he gets walking into the House chamber. Far more interesting is that Stacey Abrams will give the Democratic response. Hells, yes.

But I digress. Rebecca Traister is a writer at large for New York magazine and the author of Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Women’s Anger. Brittney Cooper is Associate Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Africana Studies at Rutgers and author of Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her SuperpowerTogether they will discuss their work in the context of the politics of the Trump era. Event is free. Registration is closed, but given the weather and your level of determination, you still may be able to score a seat if snow keeps people at home (no promises). Books will be available for purchase and signing.
