Fifteen months ago, a young former Obama administration staffer met with a group of people in the upstairs lounge at Wegman’s in Mount Laurel (photo, above) to discuss his candidacy for Congress. Since this was not a public meeting space, but rather a lounge for Wegman’s customers, Andy Kim was asked not to come back.
Now, it’s Congressman-Elect Andy Kim as he delivered his victory speech on Wednesday night in his crowded Mount Laurel Headquarters. With the exception of John Adler’s single term, Republicans have owned the Third District in Congress since forever.
Although as of this writing, Tom MacArthur has not conceded, Kim went on television to deliver his thanks to all the volunteers and mapped out the path ahead. Here are his remarks.
