I want to help start your Monday with this good thing.

Below, a  snapshot from my friend Kevin Riordan, taken in Collingswood. He says: The America I love.
Yeah. Me too. Kevin wrote last year about this faith-based, volunteer program meant to help refugees and immigrants assimilate in South Jersey.

Hey – What is my Democratic Party’s position on immigrants? refugees? sanctuary?

I have no idea, because if my state and county Dem Party has a platform stating our common values, I sure haven’t heard of it. I want my party to stand for something, in this case for making New Jersey a welcoming state, where immigrants and refugees are treated respectfully, fairly and decently – documented or not. And if that is the common value of Democrats in this state, I want that put down in writing – so we let voters know who we are, and we let candidates who want to run as Democrats know what we expect of them.

More on this in the next few days, in our Blue Jersey series #DemEnter Notebook. Think about it: What do you want this party to stand for?

Why i will never go back to being a registered Democrat (after having been one for 30 years before giving up the ghost and becoming a Green) https://www.huffingtonpost.com/michael-gene-sullivan/democratic-leadership-cou_b_91340.html
Yes, this is ‘satire’, but it’s also one of the most truthful and accurate illustrations of what happened to the DP since reversing the McGovern reforms after 1972 (and purging the McGovernites, much the same as has been happening to Bernie’s Bros and Hos).
Btw, never count on ‘conservatives with a conscience’ (aka, Collins, Murkowski or Flake) to do the right thing by voting against Kavanaugh’s nomination. Even if they did, we can bet the farm that “Democrats” like Manchin, Donnelly and Heitkamp riding to Trump’s rescue by voting to confirm.
As noted, i became a Green 18 years ago, and in that time, the GP has given me no shortage of reasons to regret that decision. OTOH, i’m still waiting for the DP to give me one.
