There’s a bill on Governor Murphy’s desk (S2313) that would give PSE&G a bailout to use New Jersey ratepayers to subsidize nuclear power plants not only here, but in Pennsylvania.
Notwithstanding the folly of the continued use of this dirty and unsafe power source, the bill eschews transparency and fattens the profits of an already profitable utility.
Today in Trenton, a coalition of environmentalists, businesses, seniors, and other groups gathered to urge the governor to either veto the bill in its entirety or to conditionally veto the bill until it provides clear transparency. The governor has until the end of this month to make a decision.
