The rallies today are all about the young people. The kids who put their lives on the line every day when they enter a classroom – whether it’s kindergarten or college. (Re-read that last sentence and reflect on it for a minute).
Across the world today, young people were the organizers of marches against gun violence and their passion and eloquence give us hope for a safer future.
We can’t let this be a one-day deal. The energy we saw today must be transformed into action. Even as today’s speeches fade in our memories, we need to exert constant pressure on our elected officials, especially those in the pocket of the NRA.
Over the next few days, I’ll be posting remarks from some of these fantastic youngsters from the rally at Haddon Heights. #NeverForget.
