“I expected my school to do something about this. Instead they locked us in a room and told us our efforts were pointless. We couldn’t walk out. We couldn’t leave. I don’t want my efforts to be pointless.”
Kendy is an 8th grader in North Plainfield who tried to lead her classmates in the walkout. But her school kept the students in the auditorium as the high schoolers walked out. Our former writer Nathan Rudy, now Exec. Director at Somerset County Democrats, is Kendy’s dad. He’s very proud of his Kendy. And so are we.
PS: Your efforts are not pointless.
