Rep. Frank Pallone will speak to students and administrators at Asbury Park High School in his 6th congressional district, on Monday, March 5. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman will speak to students from ten high schools in her district on Saturday, March 10 in East Brunswick. When I have more details, I’ll update.
Both Democrats, from neighboring districts, have been advocates for stronger laws governing gun safety. Frank Pallone and Bonnie Watson Coleman both participated in a 25-hour sit in on the House in 2016, organized by Rep. John Lewis because Republican leadership failed to take action after the Orlando Pulse shooting; the Las Vegas massacre the next year took even more lives.
If you hear of anyone else in the NJ Congressional Delegation hosting similar meetings, let us know and we’ll update!
