Joe Biden in New Jersey Today

Uncle Joe’s in Central Jersey today, for one talk on campus sexual assault you probably can’t get into without a Rutgers ID, and one campaign rally for Murphy-Oliver that you can.

Obviously, Biden’s one of the establishment Dems of whom Hillary cleared the field, with her early amassing of infrastructural, superdelegate commitment and big-money power. That must have been hard on a seated Vice-President, who in 2015 was mourning the death of his son Beau of brain cancer – a son who followed his father’s footsteps Into politics.  But it’s impossible not to wonder if he spent the last three years wondering what might’ve been. And when doubt crept in. Was it when Bernie Sanders began to surge, against every bit of conventional wisdom of his party? When his own approval ratings stayed up as Hillary’s continued to sink? Would he have ignored Wisconsin? Biden may yet want his chance. His daughter sent up a trial balloon last month. But his current anti-populist message and attempts to equate Berniecrats with Trump supporters tell me he’s one of the big national Dems who still hasn’t figured out how they lost. Still, for Murphy-Oliver, the affable Biden is still a very good get. Here are Biden’s appearances today.
