South Orange/Maplewood Are Supermarket Sweeping for San Juan

Good on South Orange Village President Sheena Collum and Maplewood Township Committeeman Frank McGehee who are now Facebooking live as they take online pledges at their local Stop n’ Shop to buy food and supplies for residents of San Juan. As of this post, they’re headed toward $3,200 in pledges.

A wonderful way to spend a Saturday and an inspiring show of local humanitarian energy.

Watch:

Mayor Carmen Yulín of San Juan,Puerto Rico. We heard your plea for help and South Orange and Maplewood, N.J. are Supermarket Sweeping for you tonight live and asking our community to show you the love and support you and your residents deserve!!!

Residents – pledge money here and we’ll do your shopping and provide and receipt. We’ll settle up on money later, right now – let’s show our love to our fellow human beings because that’s who we are.
