Frank LoBiondo came into Congress during the Tea Party emergence in the 1994 election. He pledged to serve only six terms – he’s now on his eleventh. He’s against same-sex marriage, abortion rights, the Affordable Care Act, net neutrality, and NPR funding, and has voted the Trump line 86% of the time.
His Democratic challenger, Tanzie Youngblood, is a retired teacher, mother, grandmother, and has never held political office. Like many, she is an ordinary citizen who feels that action is needed after the Trump/Russia takeover of the White House.
Today, she formally kicked off her campaign to unseat. Here are her remarks.
