I couldn’t make it to Phil Murphy’s rally in Mount Laurel last night, but I was at his rally in Willingboro a few weeks ago. At that earlier rally, I listened to his stump speech and was the first to ask a question. I told him I was disappointed in that his speech completely ignored the environmental crisis we face in New Jersey and all across the planet. He gave a good answer, but I left there feeling that this topic was an afterthought. So I was pleased to read in the news reports of last night’s rally that Murphy announced full throated support for environmental initiatives should he be elected governor. I’d like to believe my question at the earlier rally spurred him on. Maybe it had a little to do with it. But in any case, I’m glad that next year we’ll have a governor who listens.
