Today, President Donald Trump will welcome the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots to the White House for smiles and photos.
Well, not all the Patriots.
While Trump is BFFs with Pats QB Tom Brady, Coach Bill Belichick and owner Bob Kraft, guys like defensive end Chris Long and free safety Devin McCourty are not exactly fans of the president and will boycott today’s visit.
Long, who after being part of an improbable Super Bowl win in February said he would likely not attend the White House honors, fired off some hilarious tweets in response, like this gem:
“Stick to football” you don’t look like a state senator yourself there bud.

But now, he’s part of a particularly impactful video explaining why Pats Nation is not composed only of Trumps fans. Quite the contrary , exactly. Watch it. It’s worth it and today, even this heartbroken Giants fan and patriot will root for (some) of the Patriots.
Oh, and for historical reference, here’s the difference in Patriot’s White House attendance between 2015 and 2017.

Let’s not forget McCourty’s connection to New Jersey — he was a great defensive player for our own Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
