If you’re near Asbury Park right now, a lovely thing is going on you might like to swing by to see – or to help. Forty-nine trees are being planted in memory of those lost in the mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando by members of Garden State Equality, community volunteers and family of the Orlando victims. The tree-planting, one for each person lost, is at Library Park, next to Trinity Episcopal Church at around 503 Asbury Avenue. The Pulse was an Orlando night spot where gay people and their family and friends felt comfortable to see each other and to dance. The shooting was on June 12th, forty-nine dead and many more injured. The last survivor was just released from the hospital a few days ago. Another man, who escaped, died suddenly this week.
