It’s probably too much to expect a Republican to directly oppose fossil fuel projects, but credit should be given to Assemblyman Ron Dancer (R-12) for speaking at today’s Rally to Protect the Pinelands, even if the environment took a back seat in his remarks.
The thrust of the rally was to demonstrate opposition to the proposed pipelines that will despoil the pristine environmental preserve that covers over a million acres of South Jersey. At the rally, Dancer urged support for expanding the state’s Sunshine Law to extend to the Board of Public Utilities. According to Dancer, today citizens don’t have the right to submit public comments to the Board for items under deliberation. He and his legislative partner, Robert Clifton, spoke on the steps of the Trenton War Memorial this morning.
