The school-to-prison pipeline has been discussed for years. It is a true disgrace that we have not prioritized stopping this form of structural racism. But now, let’s discuss the school-to-military pipeline.
In this nj.com article, it reports this: “Educators say the new graduation requirements have led to: A military aptitude test that was seldom used in New Jersey schools being widely administered.”
Please don’t get me wrong. If students choose the military, I fully support and respect that decision. If, however, we are using the failure to pass the PARCC test as a means to feed students into the military, I have a huge problem. How about you?
