Public safety advocates & Senate Dems: The case for S2360

Steve Sweeney plans to schedule another attempt to override S2360 next week, the common-sense gun bill that would loop local law enforcement into the process of deciding whether somebody with documented mental illness can have that record expunged so they can apply for for a gun permit in this state. That bill had unanimous GOP support in March, which evaporated in the face of Christie’s veto, a flip-flop of statehouse Republicans who still take his orders while he makes them look like fools. Sweeney said this week he’ll use his authority to send NJ State Police to round up any other senator in his House who fails to show up for the vote.
