QoTD: “Swiftboating – surgically”

Via politickernj.com:

“He’s threading the needle,” state Sen. Kevin O’Toole (R-40), Cedar Grove, said of Christie. “He’s swift boating – surgically. He’s taking away the muscle and bone of the Democratic Party by finding commonality within his initiatives. They have no place to go but to work with him. He is the most brilliant tactical politician we have seen in the governor’s office in our lifetime.”

Swiftboating. Surgically.

….should also be mindful that Christie is making his fellow Repu;blicans look even more amateurish than they already are. Standing next to CC, the rest of the NJGOP looks more hapless than ever.

The “swiftboating surgically”reference makes no sense. Swiftboating is lying to discredit a person, (political party?). Christie a briilliant tactician? Please…. If the Democratic party in N.J. could get it together and nominate a viable candidate and run an effective campaign (Christie’s vunerable, he’s a rather lousy governor) Christie’s many flaws could be brought to light and he’d be gone.

Swiftboating is also about outmaneuvering, and orchestrating someone’s political failure by means of bullshit. Bullshit planned by masters of bullshit.

but isn’t bullshiting lying? Also, I did not mean to imply that Barbara Buono would not make a fine Governor. Hope the Democratic party in N.J. gets behind her.
