Questions: If activists from a group of towns decide they want to seek consolidation, what should they? And what legal requirements need to be met?

Some of the driving forces Gina is likely to talk about tonight are also reflected in Blue Jersey posts from Adam, today and earlier from rachael’sdad.

On the subject of municipal consolidation— my municipality always comes up (shore town of 1 square mile, about 5-7K people year round).

I’ve also noticed that the police dept is doing a fighting consolidation campaign that would consolidate the police with 4 other towns (3/5 on the list are small shore towns).  There are magnets on trucks now that say “Save TownName Police” on it.  Interesting concept and I’m sure I’ll do a diary on the subject when I have a chance to.
